Heidi the 11-year-old Doberman cross is a sweet, sensitive soul. Her whole world has been turned upside down recently and she now just wants a nice quiet home to retire in. She is initially worried when meeting new people but once she feels comfortable, she will happily jump up for a fuss, or lean in for a cuddle.

Type of home needed

Heidi is a clever girl that loves her biscuits and will do tricks for treats. She was housetrained in her previous home but may need a reminder. She will need access to a secure, private garden. Due to her behaviour around new people, she would like to live in a house with not too many visiting humans. Heidi has made several doggie friends at the centre but would like to be the only pet in the home, so she can recieve all the attention. She can live with children aged 14 years old and over. Potential adopters must live within a reasonable distance to the Canterbury rehoming centre as Heidi will require multiple meets to build up a bond before she goes home.

More about me

If Heidi sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note that if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
