Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close once I have found a suitable match.

Type of home needed

Barbara is a 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She was handed into the centre with her pal Betsy through no fault of their own, so we are looking to rehome them together. Barbara may be small, but she has a huge personality! Once Barbara builds up that relationship with you, she will have a fuss. However, initially she will needs a hands-off approach until she is more comfortable with you, this may take a while, so patience and careful handling is needed. She is looking for a quiet, adult home with minimal visitors. Barbara and Betsy will be best suited as the only dogs in the home. We are unsure if she can live with cats. Her new home will need it's own private, secure garden with very few steps.

More about me

Barbara, along with Betsy are a spirited pair and as long as their new owners are commited and are understanding of their sensitivities, then they will be great companions. Barbara does have some medical issues; potential owners should be aware that there may be a financial commitment required for her medical costs.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Barbara, who is based at Bridgend (Wales). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
