Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

We are still taking interest in Marley; however, he does require multiple visits from potential adopters and due to current lockdown restrictions we are unable to undertake these visits at this time. To place an interest, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button.

Type of home needed

Marley is a sensitive 6 year old Labrador. He is looking for an experienced owner who is willing to give him time and space to settle in. Marley is nervous meeting new people, so care will need to be taken when introducing him to strangers to the home. It would be preferable for the home to have minimal visitors. Marley is worried with intense handling, particularly wit the vet, so advice will be given by the centre trainers on how to manage this safely. Marley does prefer to socialise with smaller, female dogs but has shown worry with bigger dogs. Marley would prefer to be the only dog in the home and will need continued training with his doggy socialising.

More about me

Marley will need to live in an adult only home with no visiting children and with owners who have owned a difficult dog previously. Unfortunately, he is unable to live with cats. Marley does have a ton of potential in the right home, as long as he has continued positive, reward based training he is sure to flourish. Marley's home will need to be within an hour's drive from the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Marley, who is based at Bridgend (Wales). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
