Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Dillon

2 to 5 Years

To apply to rehome Dillon, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Dillon definitely has a cheeky personality that is guaranteed to bring plenty of smiles to his new family; He just needs a little guidance as he has not yet been fortunate enough to enjoy home comforts. This friendly lad is always seeking new humans to make friends with, and is impossible not to fall in love with once a bond has been built. Dillon is a very bright boy and really loves his food which has proven to be a brilliant training aid here at the Centre. He enjoys chasing around after his toys, but also walks beautifully on his lead when out and about exploring the world. Dillon likes his fuss, with a particular liking for a neck scratch or two. It might take Dillon a little time to fully adjust to living in a home, although here at the Centre he does settle beautifully when provided with his favourite big, cozy bed.

Type of home needed

Dillon will be needing a medium to high level of physical exercise, and will also require patience . His family would benefit from a good understanding of rehoming ex-racing greyhounds and the settling-in process that comes with this transition in lifestyle. Dillon has been happy to meet everybody here and really does adore human company. He is used to travelling in the car and will happily jump in, settle down and await his upcoming adventure! Dillon's family will need to be prepared to understand his emotions when it comes to other dogs, and will need to be able to commit to his ongoing training with his dog reactivity on walks; This is something that our team will give full assistance with during his rehoming process and beyond, and so far, Dillon has made exceptional progress in this area with our team. He can be a little shouty when seeing other dogs at a distance, but can mix with other similar sized dogs in a safe and secure environment on and off the lead.

More about me

Dillon can share his home with secondary school aged children, and he may be able to live with another similar sized dog or larger. Dillon's home will need to be free of cats and other small furry pets due to his chase drive and tendency to find things too tempting to resist! As he has not lived in a home previously, Dillon's time left alone will need to be built-up gradually, and the home ought to be dog-proofed in terms of anything that Dillon might wish to 'investigate' when left to his own devices. At a distance, Dillon struggles when seeing other dogs out and about; His reaction can be a little overwhelming in the first instance, but his progress really is admirable. Dillon really enjoys walking with other dogs of his breed and would like his family to continue with his training in his new home.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
