I'm looking for a new home...

About Alfie

8 and over

Alfie is a teeny tiny terrier cross with a big personality. He warms to people quickly and will make a wonderful companion in the right home. He likes to perch himself on a comfortable human lap and is quite content to settle with them. Although he is 10 years old, Alfie still has energy to burn. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, a game of tug with a teddy or a chance to hunt for treats in the grass!

Type of home needed

Alfie is looking for a quiet adult only home with no more than 2 people, and infrequent visitors. He must have his own secure garden and will need to be the only pet. He will need quiet walking locations, as seeing other dogs out on his walks can be quite stressful for him. Alfie will need help to settle into the new home, and adopters will receive support from our centre's behaviour team to implement different aspects of Alfie's training. Adopters must live within a 45 minute drive from the Canterbury centre as he will need multiple visits and home visits with our behaviour team to help him adjust to his new home.

More about me

If Alfie sounds like your perfect match please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
