Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Bilbo

2 to 5 Years

Bilbo is a gorgeous gentleman! He is finding living in kennels hard, and needs plenty of TLC and confidence building in his new home. He is very sweet once he feels comfortable with you and would enjoy long, quiet walks and ongoing training. Bilbo would be best as an only dog and we are currently working on his social skills with other dogs on walks.

Type of home needed

3 year old Bilbo is looking for a female only home as he finds men quite scary. He would benefit from a family who are willing to come to the centre multiple times to get to know him and help him learn to enjoy life at his own pace. Bilbo can live with a maximum of 2 adults and no other pets. He must have a secure garden with high fences and would like to have company for the majority of the day.

More about me

Bilbo needs time to get to know his new family before he can go home. As we can't offer meetings at the rehoming centre at the moment, he'll stay safe with us until restrictions are lifted. If you are interested in applying to adopt Bilbo, click on the 'come and meet me button' - we can start the process, but you'll need to wait for lockdown to end before you can meet him. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Bilbo, who is based at Loughborough. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
