Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Bobby

2 to 5 Years

Bobby needs time to get to know their new family before they go home. As we can't offer meetings at the rehoming centre at the moment, they'll stay safe with us until restrictions are lifted. If you are interested in applying to adopt Bobby, click on the 'come and meet me button' - we can start the process, but you'll need to wait for lockdown to end before you can meet them. Bobby is a very handsome 3 year old Collie X Terrier. Bobby is looking for active owners who are prepared to keep his mind busy, he is super intelligent and picks up new tricks quickly, he also loves agility! He is looking for a pet free home.

Type of home needed

Once Bobby knows and trusts people he is very affectionate. Bobby loves to go for his walks, he can make doggy friends if done in a gradual and controlled manner. The times and locations of his walks will need careful consideration as he is unlikely to cope in dog or people busy places. Bobby is generally sensitive and reactive to noises; we feel a home with no children or dogs either side of the garden fence will help reduce his stress levels. Due to his sensitive nature he can live with adults only (17 plus) with no visiting children. The location of Bobby's new home must be rural as he has a history of chasing traffic and cyclists.

More about me

Bobby will need direct access to a fully secure garden. Bobby will need a safe area to go to when there are visitors to the property. Due to his history, it is a requirement that Bobby wears a muzzle and is kept on a lead when on walks, for his safety and the safety of others. Potential owners must live no more than 1 hour from the rehoming centre and must be happy to visit 6-8 times within a 2 week reserve.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Bobby, who is based at Salisbury (Wiltshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
