Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

About Bertie

Breed:
Age:
5 to 7 Years
Sex:

Likes

Bertie is a 7 year old crossbreed. Bertie is a fun loving boy who loves to play, he is an expert at catch, has great control when playing football and is fantastic at finding the hidden teddy bear! Bertie enjoys going for walks especially if this involves a trip away in the car to the woods, hills or meadows.

Type of home needed

Bertie is looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with owners who have had dogs before. Bertie can be worried by strangers and does need a gentle and slow introduction in getting to know new people. Bertie can be uncomfortable with other dogs and prefers to walk in quiet areas.

More about me

Bertie came to the centre as a stray so we are unsure of his past, Bertie can take time to trust you and once you gain his trust he wants nothing more than to be your best friend. He is a quick learner and will try his very best to please you. I am not currently available for rehoming as I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home, which is not possible at the moment due to the current restrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
