Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Holly is a 9 year old Collie cross. To apply to rehome me please click on the "Come Meet Me" button below. Applications will close when i have found a suitable match. Holly is a beautiful girl who is looking for a quiet rural home, where it is calm and peaceful. She doesnt like loud noises and will become distressed and try to hide during high winds or bad weather. This can also stop Holly wanting to go for her walks, instead she would prefer to stay at home where it is safe. She is a sensitive soul who only likes being with her owners and can take time building new friendships with people.

Type of home needed

Holly is looking for a quiet adult only home with only 1 or 2 people at home who have owned sensitive dogs before. Someone who can allow Holly time and patience to settle into a new home at a pace she can cope with. Holly does not like other dogs and does need to be the only pet in the home. She needs her own direct access to her own secure garden where she can run around and enjoy off lead play.

More about me

Holly is house-trained and loves to travel in the car. Once you have gained Holly's trust she is very affectionate and loves being in your company. Before Holly goes to her new home, she will need to meet her new owners several times to build a trusting relationship.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Holly, who is based at West Calder (Edinburgh). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
