Are you right for Meeko?

Meeko is looking for a home with fun loving and active adopters who can take him on adventures, exploring the great outdoors, lots of fun play and enrichment to keep him busy. He can live with secondary school aged children, who are confident with larger, bouncy dogs, who can play with him nicely and give him space to rest when needed. Meeko would like to be the only pet in the home as he likes all of the fusses and attention to himself, he would be happy with fun and friendly walking buddies though. Meeko has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely ”sit” and is currently doing muzzle training as he will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer due to his prey drive. He would be keen to learn more in short and sweet sessions for a tasty treat, as he can get a little distracted. he likes to play and potter around at his leisure so will need a private, secure garden. Meeko could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this would need to be built up once he has had time to settle into his new home. Meeko will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet his within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Beautiful and bouncy boy Meeko is a 3 and a half year old Crossbreed with bags of energy. He hasn’t really shown an interest in toys so far, he would much rather play and bound around with his favourite people. He loves a good fuss, he likes a neck and back scratch and will lean in for more. He is a foodie boy, he will happily eat any treat offered and takes them gently from the hand. This playful lad is looking for his new home.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog

When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
