Are you right for Belle?

Belle is a 1 year and 3 month old Dachshund with a lively, energetic personality and a real love for play. She enjoys her walks and can walk nicely on the lead, and at home she loves games like fetch and tug-of-war with her people. Belle is housetrained during the day, though she may still have the occasional overnight accident, so her new family will need to continue her training with patience and consistency. She is gradually building up her confidence with being left alone and has shown she can settle when left for short periods. Belle can be a little vocal when first meeting new people, but if given space she will approach in her own time and has been happy to greet visitors once comfortable. She also enjoys close companionship and currently prefers to sleep on the bed with her foster carer.

Is Belle right for you?

Belle would thrive in an active home that can match her playful energy and continue to build her confidence. Due to her slightly nervous and barky nature, she would be best suited to a home with older secondary school-aged children who understand how to give her space when needed. Belle has not yet lived with other animals or met other dogs in foster, so any introductions would need to be managed carefully. She is currently in foster care and is not available to view at the centre, but you can register your interest by favouriting Belle on your online application. With the right home, Belle will make a fun, affectionate, and loyal companion.
