Are you right for Max?

Max is a friendly older lad who can live with children around the age of 10. He could potentially share his home with a cat provided sensible introductions are made, as he has done so previously, however he will need to be the only dog in the home. He is fully house trained and will give you a staring at or a gentle nudge to let you know when he needs to go. He has settled well into his foster home and could be left for around 4-5 hours once settled without worry.

Is Max right for you?

Max has had a little time to wait before we could start the search for his new family as he has a couple of lumps and bumps, but the vet has now been happy to give him the all clear to find his forever home. Max is a little on the larger side and has been on a strict diet on vet orders, and his foster carers have worked wonders in shifting some of the excess weight with two good walks a day. Generally, although he does prefer to be up front and centre at the end of his lead, Max doesn't pull. Having spent time living the high life in foster, Max has clearly become accustomed to the luxuries of life, lying down to enjoy long gentle grooming sessions and regularly refreshened water! His foster carer has described him as a sociable boy who treats everyone the same, ready to greet them happily. Although he does enjoy the company of other dogs he can often get a little too rowdy, which isn't always appreciated so he will need to be the only dog at home but with some sociable and tolerant pals for walking with outside. Max's foster carers have been able to build up his leaving hours whilst he has been in their care, and he is able to be left for up to 5 hours now, mostly just sleeping whilst they are out but ready to greet them at the door with a toy in his mouth when they return. He isn't one for getting on the furniture and will happily sleep on his own bed downstairs. He is a gentle and easy going lad who would make an excellent companion.
