Are you right for Lola?

Lola is a 5-year-old English Bulldog looking for her forever home. She’s a friendly, affectionate girl who absolutely loves people and thrives on being part of the family. With her gentle and lovely temperament, she could potentially live with older children 10+ and is always happy to greet visitors with a wag and a smile. Lola enjoys her walks and exploring the world around her, though she can get a little excitable at times when out and about. She loves her toys (especially ropes!) and enjoys a good chew, but she understands what belongs to her. Around the home, she’s settled and content and is used to a routine where she relaxes happily while her owners are out. She’s a clever girl who knows a range of commands and responds well once she understands what’s being asked of her. Lola also enjoys being involved in daily life, whether that’s watching you cook from the kitchen floor or keeping an eye on things from the stairs. Lola hasn’t had much experience living with other animals. She can be excitable around dogs and has shown a tendency to chase cats, so she may be best suited as the only pet in the home. Lola is currently on a weight management food, so she will need a home that can support her with a healthy diet and regular exercise to help her reach a healthy weight and show off her new trim figure!!

Is Lola right for you?

Lola is a super friendly, people-loving girl who will make a wonderful companion in the right home. She settles well when left alone and is housetrained, making her an easy addition to a daily routine. She travels well in the car and enjoys being close to her humans, often choosing to sit nearby and keep you company. She can be a little excitable, particularly on walks or around other dogs, so her new family should be prepared to continue working on her manners and help her stay calm in these situations. Lola is a truly sweet, loyal girl with so much to offer, and we can’t wait to see her settled into a home where she can enjoy all the comforts, care, and cuddles she deserves. Lola is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters.

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found you...

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

  7. 7

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog
