Are you right for Tilda?

Tilda would benefit from a quiet to moderately busy home with one to two residents. She enjoys company and settles well with familiar people, but can become more unsettled when several people are present, following them around the home. She will thrive in a calm environment with a clear routine. Tilda is very friendly with people of all ages and has been relaxed and affectionate around children in her foster home. She could live with primary-school-aged children (6+). She does have some medical needs, which could lead to additional costs. We will discuss this further if your application is shortlisted. Tilda is a loving and sociable girl who thrives on human company. She is still adjusting to home routines and will need adopters willing to continue her housetraining and help build her confidence on walks, particularly in new or busy environments. She may need support with vet‑handling, but the centre will provide guidance and support with her training plans. Tilda would like to be the only dog in her new home; however, she is friendly and excited when meeting dogs on walks and may pull toward larger dogs.

Is Tilda right for you?

Tilda is a five-year-old Bulldog who was handed over because her previous owner was no longer able to care for her due to health and work‑related limitations. Tilda is a friendly, affectionate, and people‑oriented dog who often jumps onto laps or nudges for a fuss. She is relaxed and polite on walks with good lead manners and enjoys sniffing and exploring. Tilda can be sensitive in uncertain new environments or low‑visibility conditions (e.g., after dark walks). She has recently had BOAS surgery to improve her breathing and airways, and has struggled a bit with the vet handling. Her adopters should be willing to put a bit of work into improving her experience and expectations of the vets, with some "happy vet visits". Tilda is not fully housetrained yet, but is improving. Her new adopters will need to continue supporting her with lots of encouragement and regular opportunities to toilet outside. Tilda has been left for up to two hours and settles well, usually sleeping on the sofa. She could be left for up to four hours if this time was gradually built up once she has settled in. Tilda is not fully used to car travel and is initially anxious. She may need some more support from her adopters in this area.
