Dogs Trust Shrewsbury hopes to sniff out green fingered dog lover

Dogs Trust Shrewsbury are hoping that as gardening enthusiasts descend on the city for the annual flower show, they can sniff out a green fingered dog lover who is willing to dig deep to help their gardens grow.

The centre is in desperate need of a volunteer gardener to help them create more dog-friendly areas on the 30-acre site so that it is even more interesting for the dogs whilst they wait for their forever homes.

Volunteer Co-ordinator, Helen Downing, says:

"We have a Maintenance Officer who looks after the entire site which is a huge job so he's busy as a bee all year round! Now we're looking for someone to help us out perhaps once or twice a month planting out borders and pots and doing some general weeding and tidying.

"The more varied the environment, the more interesting it is for the dogs so it would be wonderful if someone who enjoys gardening and loves dogs could spare a few hours od their time to help us out."

If you think you could help the team come up smelling of roses, please email Helen or call 01952 770225.
