Dogs Trust Shrewsbury appeal to public to help keep canines cosy

Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity is calling on dog lovers to donate their unwanted blankets to their Shrewsbury based rehoming centre to help keep homeless hounds cosy.

There are currently over 130 dogs looking for new homes at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury, including the centre’s Oakfield Oldies, who live at Oakfield the UK’s only retirement home for dogs.

Dogs Trust Shrewsbury supporter relations officer, Lee Pogson, said:

“During the colder months our residents love nothing more than snuggling up in a warm blanket and enjoying an afternoon snooze. With a cold snap on the way we urgently need blankets as we are currently running very short. We have dogs of all shapes and sizes here so we need as many blankets as possible, the fluffier and warmer the better. Unfortunately we can’t accept feather-filled duvets but other than that, our dogs aren’t picky!”

If you have any unwanted blankets lying around that you can donate to homeless hounds please take them along to Dogs Trust Shrewsbury, Roden Lane Farm, Telford, Shropshire, TF6 6BP.
