Could you be the 'face' of Dogs Trust Shrewsbury?

Dogs Trust Shrewsbury is looking for a dog-lover with some time on their hands at weekends to help out at the busy rehoming centre, as a Visitor Host Volunteer.

The new Visitor Host Volunteer would be the first point of contact for people as they enter the centre in search of their forever four-legged friend.

Helen Downing, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury, says:

"On average 250 families visit the centre every week, so we are very busy - and the phone never stops ringing!

"We would love to have more friendly faces welcoming visitors and helping them find whatever it is they need to know, or want to do. That might be talking people through the adoption process, taking in donations of food or blankets or perhaps helping people find out more about our Home from Home fostering scheme or our Canine Care Card.

"When people come to the rehoming centre, whatever the purpose of their visit we want them to have a lovely time and having an additional volunteer in reception will help make sure that can happen."

The Visitor Host Volunteer position would be on Saturdays and/or Sundays from 12 noon until 3pm every week.

For further information or to have a chat about the role, please email Helen or call 01952 770225.
