Dogs Trust

Remember, remember your dog this September

If your dog finds the bangs, booms and flashes of fireworks frightening, Dogs Trust Dog School Shropshire is giving you the chance to help your four-legged friend ahead of Bonfire Night.

The award-winning team are holding a seminar on Monday 2 September at 7.30pm at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury to help owners keep their dog as fear free as possible as the big night approaches.

Rachel Rodgers, Head Coach at Dogs Trust Dog School Shropshire, says:

“Dog owners do their best all year round to keep their dogs relaxed but Bonfire Night can be one of the most stressful nights of the year for them with many dogs becoming scared as a result of the sudden, unpredictable loud noises and flashes.

“We hope that by holding this event two months in advance of Bonfire Night we can give owners enough time to help prepare their dogs and minimise their fear.”

As well as looking at how owners can help to manage their dog’s fear and reduce stress in the short and long term, the event will look at how dogs view their world and what may cause them to experience fear.

The seminar runs from 7.30pm to 9pm and will include tea and coffee. Tickets are £10 and must be booked in advance by calling 01948 302 991. The event is not suitable for dogs to attend however Assistance Dogs can be accommodated.
