‘Paw-fect’ fun day raises thousands for rescue dogs

Thanks to dog lovers and their fun-loving four-legged friends more than £11,000 was raised at this year’s summer fun day at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury.

Over 1,800 visitors went along to the event, which took place at the rehoming centre last month, and in total £11,270.30 was raised.

Lee Pogson, Supporter Relations Officer and organiser of the day, said:

“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, took part in the dog show competitions and generally joined in all the fun! It was a great day, especially after the disappointment of having to cancel last year’s event due to the hot weather.

“It is always brilliant to see people enjoying themselves with their dogs and particularly seeing ex Dogs Trust residents having fun with their new families.

“Every penny raised will go towards making sure that our dogs have everything they need whilst they are with us and waiting for their forever homes, so thank you to everyone.”
