Dogs Trust Newbury hosts 'pawsome' fun day
Congratulations to Dogs Trust Newbury who raised around £6,000 for the homeless hounds in their care at their annual Fun Day at Park House School on Andover Road on Sunday.
We'd like to thank the 1,000 supporters that attended the event and donated gifts and raffle prizes for the day. There are plenty of wagging tails at the rehoming centre as the huge sum raised helps up to 30 dogs in its care.
Nicki Barrow, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Newbury, said:
“Our fun day was a huge success and for that we thank our incredible supporters, staff and volunteers who helped us make the event bigger and better this year. It was such a fun day and we’re lucky that the weather was on our side! Thanks to the generosity from people and organisations across the county, and our amazing volunteers who gave up their time and worked so hard, we raised a whopping £6,000 approximately with money still coming in.
“Everything that Dogs Trust achieves is because of the wonderful support we receive; enabling us to care for and rehome over 15,000 dogs a year and educate half a million school children and communities.”
Highlights on the day included a rehoming centre parade to showcase Dogs Trust Newbury’s residents looking for loving homes, ‘doggy dash’, a silent auction, arts and crafts, a raffle and games for all the family, including four-legged friends who competed for their very own rosettes in the popular dog show.
