Dogs Trust Newbury gearing up for annual fun day

There’s waggy tails and lotsa licks at Dogs Trust Newbury as staff gear up for their annual fun day which is taking place on Sunday 5th August.

Taking place at Park House School in Newbury from 12pm to 4pm, this fun-filled day is great for the whole family. With less than a week to go, the rehoming centre is pulling out all the stops to make the event bigger and better than ever.

The charity is still gratefully accepting generous donations of prizes for the raffle which will help raise vital funds, such as bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates, any doggy items including treats, toys, collars and leads, unwanted gifts and beauty and toiletry sets.

Emma Stacey, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Newbury, said:

“Our fun day is a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the homeless hounds in our care. There are all sorts of exciting activities planned throughout the day so please come along and support Dogs Trust Newbury, we can promise you a really fun day out for all the family!

“The prize raffle plays a huge role in the day. We’re so grateful for those who have donated wonderful goods already - but if you’d like to donate anything that we could put to use, we’d be so grateful as the more prizes we have, the more money we can raise for our wonderful dogs.

“We want the day to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so in the event of extreme hot weather that’s set to continue, the decision may be made to cancel the Fun Day. Please check the Dogs Trust website and social media before you begin your journey for any updates.

Highlights of the day include have-a-go agility, kids games, a raffle, tombola, stallholders and games for all the family including those of the four-legged variety who may even be able to win their very own rosette in the fun dog show. There will also be a variety of Dogs Trust merchandise available to buy on the day and delicious refreshments to enjoy.

The entrance fee is £2 for adults and £1 for children. There will be free parking at the event.

For those who would like to donate items for the raffle and tombola, please drop prizes into the Newbury rehoming centre.
