Dogs Trust Newbury gearing up for annual Fun Day
Dogs and their owners are being invited to Dogs Trust Newbury’s Fun Day on Sunday 26th May.
Taking place at Park House School in Newbury from 12-4pm, the event promises plenty of fun and games for everyone including the ever-popular Fun Dog Show with classes including: Best Veteran, Cutest Puppy and Best Rescue Dog, so make sure your four-legged friends have their paws at the ready. All proceeds from the day will go towards the continued care of residents at the Rehoming Centre.
Other activities available at the Fun Day include ‘doggy dash’, a tombola, the grand raffle, various stalls and refreshments. The event is highly anticipated this year after the event was cancelled in 2018 due to the extreme hot weather.
The team would be grateful for any donations for the raffle and tombola, as well as anyone wanting to lend a paw and volunteer to help on the day.
Dogs Trust Newbury Supporter Relations Officer, Emma Wilcox, said:
“Everything we do is for our rescue dogs and we hope you and your four-legged friends can join us on the day and show your support. We can promise you a really fun day out for all the family, with lots of activities available throughout the day.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the hounds in our care as the proceeds from the day help us to care for dogs like two-year-old Lurcher Reilly, currently staying at the Rehoming Centre.”
Reilly loves everyone he meet – dogs and humans alike. He’s super playful and extremely clever, always willing to learn for a tasty treat. He’s looking for an adult only home and would prefer to be the only dog in the house but would enjoy walking friends.
Gates will be open 12pm-4pm. Entry is £2 per adult and £1 for children.
