Dog with love on her side hopes to find special someone
A rescue dog at Dogs Trust Newbury with a heart-shaped marking on her side, is hoping she can find true love for her and her best friend in time to lap up all the TLC on offer on Valentine’s Day.
Ten-year-old Springer Spaniel, Sophie, has attracted the attention of all the team at the Hamstead Marshall-based rehoming centre, and not just because of her distinctive marking. She comes as a double act with her furry friend Lola, a seven-year-old Border Collie and the two of them together are a bundle of fun, and looking for an owner who has double the love to give this Valentine’s Day.
Nicki Barrow, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Newbury, says:
“Sophie really does have a lot of love to give so when we spotted her heart shaped marking, it seemed very fitting. We’re hoping there’s enough love to go around and a new owner can adopt both her and her friend Lola.
“Taking on two dogs can be hard work, but with these two it’s definitely a case of double the love as they’ll keep you on your toes and smiling all day.
“Both are sweet girls who love to play with their toys - a good game of fetch makes them very happy! They can both be a little shy to start, but soon come around with a gentle fuss and some tasty treats.
“They will be such a wonderful addition to any family and they are looking for a calm but active home with owners who can keep them mentally stimulated. They could live with children aged 11 and over, but would prefer to be the only dogs in the home. They have responded well in the company of cats so could possibly live with a feline friend. They are beautiful girls and we’re hoping they find true love soon.”
