People and prizes needed to make fun day "paw-fect"
Dogs Trust Leeds is hoping dog-loving locals will help out at its Family Fun Day and also donate everything from chocolates to experience days and long-forgotten unwanted Christmas presents.
The annual Fun Day raises thousands of pounds for the rehoming centre's homeless hounds but to make that happen this year, they are in desperate need of donations
of goodies and gifts, and people’s time on the day.
Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer and organiser of the Sumer Fun Day, says:
“This is our main fund-raising event of the year and we are in desperate need of more volunteers to give a few hours of their time and help run the stalls, serve refreshments and even direct traffic!
“When it comes to our raffle and tombola they always help us raise hundreds of pounds, but so far we’ve not got enough goodies. It is a case of the more varied the prizes the better. New toys for children, chocolates, wine and if local business could donate too, offering things such as spa days or a meal for two, that would be fantastic.”
The Summer Fun Day will be held at Dogs Trust Leeds on Sunday 6 August from 11am. There will be fun and games for all the family and four-legged friends including fun dog show competitions, games and activities for children and stalls full of delights for four-legged and two-legged friends.
If you would like to volunteer on the day please call Volunteer Co-ordinator Alex Hartley on 0113 281 4945. If you would like to donate something please pop along to the centre or call Sarah on 0113 281 4937.
