Dogs Trust Leeds appeals for donations to make fun day "pawfect"
Dogs Trust Leeds is hoping dog-loving locals come to its rescue and donate everything from chocolates toexperience days and long-forgotten unwanted Christmas presents for its Summer Fun Day.
Despite the sun not having shined too much so far this year, the team’s eyes are firmly set on making their Summer Fun Day at the centre on York Road the best ever, but to make that happen they rely on donations from supporters across the region.
Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer at the rehoming centre says:
“Every year the support we receive is incredible, so we want to make sure that once again we have great prizes for our tombola and raffle as they are always really popular and help us raise lots of money.
“It is a case of the more varied the donations the better! New toys for children and toiletry sets for adults always go down well, as do things that most of us love such as chocolates and wine. We would also love businesses to donate experiences such as theatre tickets and spa days.
“More than 1,000 dogs were cared for at the centre last year and every penny raised goes to making sure the dogs have the best lives possible with us whilst they are waiting for their forever homes. Last year we raised more than £28,000 which is wonderful, so a huge thank you to everyone that donated things and came along on the day. If we can beat that this year, that would be amazing!”
The Summer Fun Day is on Sunday 2 August at the centre from 11am. There will be fun and games for all the family and four-legged friends including a fun dog show, have a go agility, a BBQ and stalls full of delights for four-legged and two-legged friends.
If you are able to donate something please visit the rehoming centre, or call Sarah Hey on 0113 281 4937.
