Putting their best paws forward to raise funds for rescue dogs

The team at Dogs Trust Leeds are hoping it’s a case of come woof come all when they join supporters to em-‘bark’ on a parkland adventure to raise money for the rescue dogs waiting for their forever homes at the rehoming centre.

Two-legged friends of the charity along with their canine companions are set to take to the pathways and parkland of Temple Newsam on Sunday 8th September for the ‘Paws in the Park’ five kilometre fund-raising walk.

Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Leeds and organiser of the event, says:

“We really hope lots of dog lovers join us on the day. The surroundings are beautiful and although we’ll be by no means taking in all of the 1,500 acres of the estate, it’s a wonderful place for a dog walk.

“Every day of the year we look after at least 80 dogs so a fun get together with other dog lovers and some of our ex-Dogs Trust residents whilst raising money to help those still waiting to find their forever families, is a great way to spend a Sunday.”

It costs £5 per dog to take part, which includes a goodie bag, and walkers can just turn up on the day. The walk takes place from 10am with the last entry at 12.30pm. For further information please e-mail [email protected] or [email protected] or call 0113 281 4837.
