Dogs Trust Leeds needs dog lovers to lend their ‘suppawt’
It’s the biggest fundraiser in the doggy calendar and Dogs Trust Leeds is encouraging local people to join in the furry-fun and volunteer at its annual Fun Day on Sunday 4 August.
The event will take place at the rehoming centre on York Road from 11am to 4pm and will include fun and games for all the family including the ever-popular Fun Dog Show, have-a-go agility, games for everyone, a raffle and tombola.
The rehoming centre is looking for volunteers to take on various roles including setting up and staffing stalls, serving refreshments, selling raffle tickets and giving out prizes as well as looking after two and four-legged friends to make sure everyone has a great day.
Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Leeds and organiser of the event, says:
“Volunteers are extremely important to us as a charity and we couldn’t care for as many dogs as we do without their help throughout the year, and we need them to work alongside us at our Fun Day too.
“Last year we had to cancel the event due to the incredibly hot weather but with the help of volunteers we can hopefully make up for missing a year. Every penny raised goes towards making sure our dogs can have everything they need whilst they are with us so we hope lots of dog lovers come on board.”
The Fun Day will take place at Dogs Trust Leeds, Woodlands Farm, York Road, Leeds, LS15 4NL. If you would like to enquire about volunteering, please call Sarah on 0113 281 4937 or e-mail her at [email protected]
