Paw-fect’ fun day raises thousands for rescue dogs

Miley the Chihuahua with owner Hope

Thanks to dog lovers and their fun-loving four-legged friends more than £20,000 was raised at this year’s summer fun day at Dogs Trust Leeds.

Over 3,000 visitors went along to the event, which took place at the rehoming centre earlier this month, and in total £20,192.88 was raised.

More than 300 dogs took part in the fun dog show with two-year-old Chihuahua Miley being declared the Judges’ Favourite.

Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer and organiser of the day, said:

“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along. It was a great day and it’s always lovely to see people enjoying themselves with their dogs and particularly seeing ex Dogs Trust residents having fun with their new families.

“Every penny raised will go towards making sure that our dogs have everything they need whilst they are with us and waiting for their forever homes, so thank you to everyone.”
