Dogs Trust West London (Harefield) has this week waved a fond farewell to Gary the Greyhound, who finally found his forever home after more than 500 days at the centre.
Seven-year-old Gary is an ex-racing dog who was handed over to the Dogs Trust in early 2018 for rehoming. Since then, Gary has been largely overlooked by potential adopters visiting the centre – until Trilby and Kel came to see him.
The couple from Fulham already have a greyhound – an ex-racer called Cook. When they all met Gary at the West London rehoming centre they immediately hit it off and were delighted he was available for adoption.
Centre Manager Richard Moore said:
“Gary is a really great dog and his new family couldn’t be more perfect for him. It may have taken 500 days, but its been worth the wait to get the right owners for the lovable greyhound who just wants to put his paws up in a loving home after retiring from racing.”
