Lola's Lockdown Love

9 year old Westie Lola made herself at home on our Home From Home scheme.

Lola, the 9 year old Westie, came into Dogs Trust Harefield just before lockdown, due to her owner’s allergies. She found kennels quite a stressful experience and was making it very clear that she missed her home comforts! Luckily, Sophie Burness, our Regional PR Manager, heard about through other staff members and offered to take her home on our Home from Home scheme.

Lola instantly made herself at home, and the little madam that she is, had Sophie running around after her! Lola stayed with Sophie throughout the lockdown period, where their love for each other flourished. When the centre was able to begin rehoming again, Sophie was the one of the first to come and adopt Lola as her own, as the thought of parting with her was simply too hard. Lola is now living happily ever after as a Burness and is living her best life chasing the birds around the park, having constant belly rubs and being fed like a princess! She is having a little 10th Birthday party in the next few weeks to not only celebrate her Birthday, but that she has the best present any dog could ask for.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you can provide a ‘yappy’ forever home for one of our dogs here at Dogs Trust Harefield. Call Dogs Trust West London on 01895 453 930.
