World Pup fever hits Evesham!

Football loving fidos at Dogs Trust Evesham are getting in the World Cup spirit with a litter of seven-week-old Lurcher puppies named after star players in this year’s England squad.

Leading the loveable line-up are Harry Canine, Jamie dig-up-the-Yardy, Jack Russell Butland, Kyle Walkies, John Bones, Eric Dierhound and Nick Pup who are all hoping they can be the perfect match for a loving new owner.

While they may not quite have the fancy footwork to rival their namesakes, the playful pups can’t resist running after a ball and would love to find a loving home where they can continue their training and receive plenty of adoration from their number one fans, in the form of a new family.

The litter were born after their mum Rosie, a two-year-old Lurcher, was handed into the Rehoming Centre pregnant, after being picked up as a stray. They have all been cared for by a foster family through the charity’s Home From Home scheme where they’ve had round the clock care during their first weeks of life.

Sarah Galvin, Home From Home Co-ordinator at Dogs Trust Evesham said:

“These mischievous little pups are full of energy so will need loving owners who are happy to be kept on their toes! They are only eight weeks old and as they aren’t as experienced as the professionals they would benefit from a little extra training.

“The team requires active homes with owners who appreciate the demands of energetic young puppies and are at home most of the day to help them settle in. They would need homes with secure gardens to bound around in and would of course love a football ball to play with. The pups will be required to attend Dogs School training classes to help them become polite, well-socialised adult dogs. They are super little dogs who would make the perfect four-legged companions in the right homes.”
