Dogs Trust Evesham rehome first dog of the year
The new year is off to a waggy start at Dogs Trust Evesham as it celebrates rehoming its first dog of 2018.
Thomas, the seven-year-old Collie cross, came into the rehoming centre two weeks before Christmas with just one wish - to find a home for the new year. His wish came true thanks to dog-loving couple Paul and Alice Sumners from Gloucestershire who said it was ‘puppy love’ at first sight.
"Our last rescue dog passed away last summer after being in our lives for 16 years so we had a big gap in our lives. We're a bit too set in our ways for a young puppy so giving a slightly older dog a new home was the answer. He's settled in no trouble at all and we’re enjoying our walks around the woods.
“We can't tell you how happy and delighted we are to give him a forever home. We are so in love with Thomas and he is definitely the dog for us. We're looking forward to making 2018 the best year ever for him."
Chris Slight, Dogs Trust Evesham Rehoming Centre Manager said: “We are so pleased that Thomas has found his forever home and got the new year off to a cracking start. We know he’ll be very happy with his new owners.”
Dogs Trust Evesham rehomed more than 850 dogs in 2017 and is expecting another busy year finding homes for dogs of all shapes and sizes.
