Give a dog a break

Having been brought in to local vets after a suspected road traffic accident, which left her with a fractured pelvis, four year-old Terrier Cross Betty has since found her way into the care of Dogs Trust Basildon. Needing cage rest and lots of TLC this little bundle of fluff was being fostered by the Wickford-based rehoming centre’s Deputy Manager, Lisa Cooper whilst she rebuilt her strength.

Says Lisa:

“Poor Betty is just over half way through the recommended seven weeks of cage rest and is being a model patient. My existing pets, including Goliath the Chihuahua, have taken her under their paw and have welcomed her into our home. I think it’s safe to say that she is raring to get going and leap out of her confines right into the arms of a brand new family. Understandably it will take her a while to fully build up her strength but with a loving family who can continue to lavish lots of TLC on her we’ve no doubt that she’ll be in top shape in no time at all.”

Betty is just one of a handful of dogs at Dogs Trust Basildon who either struggle with being in kennels, or need round-the-clock care and are in temporary foster homes.
