Dogs Trust Basildon's first fun day raises over £21,000
Last weekend saw Dogs Trust Basildon host its first Fun Day at Barleylands and we’re so grateful to everyone for helping it live up to its name! Over 7,000 people turned up and helped to raise over £21,000 for the rescue hounds in our care.
It’s hard to pinpoint one highlight from the day, but seeing some of the returning dogs who had been adopted from the centre during its year certainly brought a smile to our faces. There are some characters that really stood out when they stayed at Dogs Trust Basildon, and to now see them so happy with their families reminds us all why we do this job. The day wouldn’t have been the success it was without the support from each and every one of our amazing volunteers who were on site helping prepare the stalls and also manning them ensuring every visitor was met by a smiling face.
All the funds raised will go to help care for the dogs in our care, and as they can’t say it I want to say a big thank you on their behalf, see you all next year!
