COVID-19: Please note that all our rehoming centres are closed until further notice

In line with Government guidelines, our Contact Centre staff are now working from home. We are currently experiencing a very high number of enquiries, so there may be a slight delay in answering your calls and emails. Please bear with us, we will help you as soon as we can.

You’d be barking mad to miss doggy fun day!

Dogs and their owners are being invited to Dogs Trust Basildon’s Fun Day on Sunday 19 May 2019.

Taking place at Barleylands Farm Showground in Billericay from 11am-4pm, the event promises plenty of fun and games for everyone including the ever-popular Fun Dog Show with classes including: Best Veteran, Best Puppy and Best Rescue Dog, so make sure your four-legged friends have their paws at the ready. All proceeds from the day will go towards the continued care of residents at the Rehoming Centre.

Other activities available at the Fun Day include have-a-go-agility, stalls with arts, crafts and doggy merchandise, raffles a tombola and refreshments.

The team would be grateful for any donations for the raffles and tombola, as well as anyone wanting to lend a paw and volunteer to help on the day.

Dogs Trust Basildon Supporter Relations Officer Kent Lowe, said:

“Everything we do is for our rescue dogs like Otis and we hope you and your four-legged friends can join us on the day and show your support. We can promise you a really fun day out for all the family, with lots of activities available throughout the day.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the hounds in our care as the proceeds from the day help us to care for dogs like four-year-old lurcher Otis, currently staying at the Rehoming Centre.”

“Otis is a gentle, sensitive lad looking for a home with patient owners who would be willing to help him come out of his shell. He is progressing well at the centre with his carers but what he needs is a family, ideally with another friendly dog to help him build his confidence. We are confident that once he has found his paws in the right home, he will make a wonderful companion.”

Gates will be open 11am-4pm. Entry is £3 for adults and £2 for under 16s. Under 5s and dogs go free.
