Are you right for Alfie?

Meet the most amazing little man, Alfie! Alfie is a 12-year old Chihuahua X JRT looking for his retirement home. Despite his age, Alfie is full of life and absolutely loves his walks. Alfie is a perfect gentleman meeting new people and dogs alike, so could live with another dog in the home pending a successful meet - but is happy to be an only dog too. Any children in the home should be older secondary school age and above, as he's looking for a quieter environment while he lives out his golden years. Alfie is perfect in every way, and will want to sit in your lap within seconds of meeting you. Anywhere soft and comfy, you will find this beautiful boy. He loves a cuddle and a fuss, and will settle down for numerous naps during the day. Alfie loves his food, and will enjoy a chase of a ball until he's ready for his next nap; which will take place upon your lap. Make sure you sit still, please do not disturb the prince and ensure you offer him small pets at this time. Alfie is an amazing boy, who has shown himself to be the perfect house-guest whilst in his foster home. He sleeps all through the night, and would like to sleep on his owners bed with them. He is fully house-trained, and is happy to be left for a few hours with no issues - it's a good time for another nap. Alfie enjoys a scenic stroll around with his people, followed by a seat in a coffee shop where he can people watch and guess everyone's occupation. We all adore this chap, and can't wait to see him living his best life in his new home.

Is Alfie right for you?

Alfie has been going for wonderful walks, taking in all the sights and smells and lapping up all the attention he receives! Alfie is the perfect companion, and can be taken anywhere thanks to his brilliant behaviour. A+ all around, young Alfie! Alfie will make you fall in love with him in moments, and will ask to be brought home and spoiled - which he wholeheartedly deserves. Despite being a senior gentleman, he is young at heart and is happy to have a small play with his doggy friends followed by a nap somewhere squishy. He deserves nothing less than the absolute best, as he is exactly that - the absolute best. If we had to paint a picture of the Best Boy in the world, it would be Mr Alfie.

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

  3. 3

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

We’ll keep your application open for three months and keep looking for a match

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog
