Are you right for Sol?

Meet Sol, a handsome boy who has recently come back into our care. He previously lived in a home for quite some time, where he became housetrained and learned to spend short periods on his own. Since kennel life can feel overwhelming, we recommend gradually building up any time left alone once he’s settled into his forever home. Sol is a sensitive soul who can find busy or noisy environments a little scary. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only household where he can take things at his own pace and feel safe. Having a quiet retreat for when visitors come over is important, so he has somewhere he won’t be disturbed. Because loud noises can unsettle him, Sol would do best in a peaceful home away from busy roads or heavy street noise. One of Sol’s greatest joys is toys, he isn’t fussy! He’ll happily chase a tennis ball in a game of fetch or proudly carry around his favourite soft teddies. A garden of his own would be the perfect place for him to play and relax. We’re still getting to know how Sol feels about other dogs. Meeting new ones can sometimes feel overwhelming for him, so he would enjoy calm countryside walks or time in secure fields where he can run and play freely.

Is Sol right for you?

Sol is a sweet boy who shows plenty of affection once he feels comfortable with his trusted friends but it can take him a little time to let his loving personality shine through. He really enjoys bath time and a good grooming session, which he finds calming and relaxing. To help him feel at ease, Sol would love for his new family to commit to visiting him a few times here at the centre so he can get to know you, just as you get to know him. Our training and behaviour team will be on hand to guide you through his needs and support his transition back into home life. Food enrichment is one of Sol’s favourite things, he loves kongs and snuffle mats, which help him feel more settled when he’s worried. Sol is currently on medication to support him with his anxieties, and this would need to be continued in his forever home.
