Are you right for Lunar?

Meet Lunar, the little 8 year old Pomeranian with a big voice, this cute little floof knows who she is and what she likes and is not afraid to let you know about it. She likes to play, her favourites are squeaky toys and small tennis ball, she will hop and skip around after them, pouncing on them and occasionally de-squeaking them. Once she knows and has a bond with you she likes a fuss, she will lean in for more when you find the right spot and likes to give you kisses. This sweet lady is ready to find her new home.

Is Lunar right for you?

Lunar is looking for a calm and predictable home with quiet walking areas nearby, with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help her settle in with minimal visitors to begin with and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She could live with secondary school children who can let her approach at her own pace, who will play with her nicely and will give her space to rest when needed. Lunar can become frustrated around other dogs so could live with a calm and polite dog who would happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this would be pending successful meets at the centre, although living with a dogs is not a necessity, she would prefer quieter walking areas where she can explore at her leisure as she can get quite vocal when she sees other dogs. Lunar has some training under her belt and would willing to engage in further training with the help of a tasty treat. She does need a private, secure garden where she can enjoy some leisurely sniffy time. Lunar is very worried being left so is looking someone home the majority of the time, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle in. Lunar will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home with potential home visits to make sure she is settling in nicely so please bear this in mind when applying. Lunar is on daily medication so this will be something you would need to consider when applying.

Everything you need to know about the Pomeranian

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

We’ll keep your application open for three months and keep looking for a match

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.
