Dogs Trust Shoreham announces annual fun day
Charity appeals for raffle prize donations and stallholders
There’s lots of waggy tails at Dogs Trust Shoreham as they announce the date of their annual fun day. Taking place at the Brighton Road charity – on Sunday 28th May 2017 from 11.30am to 4.00pm – this fun-filled day is great for the whole family. With just a month to go, the rehoming centre is pulling out all the stops to make the event bigger and better than ever.
The charity has a number of stall positions available and is appealing to local businesses to get in touch to secure a spot at the event. Dogs Trust is also urging members of the public to donate prizes for the raffle.
Pia Offord, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “Our fun day is a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the homeless hounds in our care. There are all sorts of fun activities planned throughout the day so please come along and support Dogs Trust Shoreham, we can promise you a really fun day out for all the family!
“The prize raffles and stalls play a huge role in the day, and we still have a number of spaces left for stallholders at the event. Previously, there has been array of stalls selling anything from homemade doggy treats and apparel, to local food and drink suppliers and trinkets for the home. But spots are limited so we are encouraging people to get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
“We’re expecting thousands of visitors on the day, so it’s a great opportunity to get in front of lots of people and join in the fun with two and four-legged friends!”
Highlights of the day include a have-a-go agility, a grand raffle, a bouncy castle and children’s rides, giant tombola and games for all the family including those of the four-legged variety who may even be able to win their very own rosette in the fun dog show! There will also be a variety of Dogs Trust merchandise available to buy on the day and delicious refreshments to enjoy, including a beer tent.
The entrance fee is £1 for adults and free for children and canines. There will be free parking for the event at the Adur Recreation Ground, located next door to Dogs Trust Shoreham. A park and ride scheme will be in place for Blue Badge holders from 11.00am.
For those who would like to donate items for the raffle, please drop prizes into the Shoreham rehoming centre. If you are interested in having a stall at the annual fun day, please call Pia Offord or Lisa Herbert, Supporter Relations Officers, on 01273 466971 or email [email protected] or [email protected].
