Dog charity thanks loyal 'suppawters'
Dogs Trust Shoreham celebrates raising over £3,150 at its Christmas Fair
There are plenty of wagging tails at Dogs Trust Shoreham after the Christmas Fair raised over £3,150 for its residents. The charity thanks its 700 loyal ‘suppawters’ who attended the event and donated gifts and raffle prizes for the day.
The sum raised helps staff care for the 70 dogs awaiting loving homes at the Brighton Road rehoming centre.
Lisa Herbert, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Shoreham, says:
“Our Christmas Fair was such a success thanks to our wonderful supporters, volunteers and staff that helped us raise over £3,150. Although our famous slogan is ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas’, up to 70 homeless hounds will be with us on Christmas Day this year, so the money raised means we can give the dogs everything they need over the festive period and beyond.
“I’d like to say a massive thank you on behalf of all the two and four-legged friends here at Dogs Trust Shoreham to everyone who helped make the event a success, including the local businesses and dog lovers that donated fantastic prizes for the raffle and tombola. This event couldn’t have happened without the generosity of all the kind-hearted people that lent a helping hand or attended on the day.”
The festive fun and frolics included a grand Christmas raffle with a whole host of great prizes, cuddly toy tombola, gifts for humans and dogs, temporary glitter tattoos for kids and yuletide refreshments. Sussex artist and Dogs Trust volunteer, Mick Meech, decorated 130 Bonios in three hours at the event.
