He ain't nothing but a hound dog: Elvis doppelganger Benny is looking for his forever home
Elvis Presley’s ‘lip curl’ has got fans the world over, and one of Dogs Trust Shoreham’s longest-term residents, Benny the Lurcher, is no exception.
Benny, an eight-year-old Lurcher from Dogs Trust Shoreham, has a lip curl not dissimilar to the King Of Rock and Roll’s . His quirky lip has got centre staff ‘All Shook Up’ and they can often be found singing ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ when cleaning the kennels.
Benny came to the Shoreham-by-Sea based rehoming centre in January 2016 as a stray, on what would have been the month of Elvis Presley’s 81st birthday. Dogs Trust Shoreham have got ‘Suspicious Minds’ as to why this lovable Lurcher hasn’t found his Special Someone yet and hope that someone will ‘Love Him Tender’ soon.
Dogs Trust Shoreham’s Rehoming Centre Manager Tracey Rae said:
“Benny is an endearing chap who behaves like a giant puppy! Despite being a slightly more mature chap, Benny’s still very active in his nature. He’s seeking a ‘furever’ home with a little less conversation and little more action to join him on quiet walks and play all his favourite games in the garden.”
He needs a home with human pals over 16, and he'd also like to be the only pet. Benny is learning to walk nicely on the lead and travels well in the car, so it is an option to drive him to more remote locations when out on adventures. It is essential that Benny has his own enclosed garden, with high fencing; he's a bouncy boy and will need space to burn off some extra steam from time to time.
The Elvis Tribute Artist Show is coming to The Brighton Centre on Sat 25 May 2019, for more information visit their website here.
