Foster Home Appeal for Gentle Greyhound

Friendly-natured Rocco is seeking a temporary place to rest his paws until he finds a place to call ‘Forever’.

The adorable ex-racer recently celebrated his fourth birthday, but despite making his birthday wishes and dressing up for a photoshoot to attract potential adopters, he hasn’t had much luck so far.

He’s a fairly sensitive boy, and although his carers try their best to make him feel as comfortable as possible, he tends to find kennel-life overwhelming.

Thus, the team at Shoreham are calling upon the local community in a bid to find him a temporary Foster Home, while he waits for his Special Someone.

His foster carers or potential adopters will need to be understanding of his timidness, and allow him the time he needs to reveal his true, playful and cheeky character.

Once he knows you well, Rocco loves nothing more than spending time in your company, and may look to you for guidance when he’s feeling unsure. Ideally, his long-term family will be supportive, have lots of time to dedicate to him and fully involve him in all aspects of their day-to-day life.

He’ll need to live somewhere where there is multiple people at home, as he can find it worrying when left alone. The youngest members of his family should be aged at-least 12 and he cannot live with any cats, small furry pets or birds.

Dogs of a smaller size will also make for unsuitable housemates, but he may be able to share his home with a larger breed if they were to get on well upon multiple meetings.

Rocco is also unable to go for his walks off-lead, so would love a decent-sized garden to bolt about in and burn off some steam.

Ultimately, he would make for a fantastic companion to people who will take him on plenty of adventures and then chill out on the sofa with him once back home!
