Supporter Relation Officers in the community

Dogs Trust Shoreham SROs (and their dogs!) go out into the local community.

With the excitement of Dogs Trust Shoreham's Fun Day a few weeks in the past, myself and my job share colleague Pia (along with fantastic volunteers) have taken the opportunity to get out and about in the community to chat about the work of Dogs Trust.

Coco, the dog, looking at a table of food.  It’s one of our favourite aspects of our job as we get the chance to meet new people, answer questions and share information about the many ways Dogs Trust helps dogs and their owners in the UK and all around the world.

We attended a Pet Blessing Service at a local church to speak about Dogs Trust's community projects and joined the parishioners for coffee and cake after the service while selling some brightly coloured yellow merchandise. We were delighted to discover they’d collected an amazing £123!

We also visited a local day centre, as you can see from the photo our job share dog Coco thought it was a wonderful morning out! The visitors were very restrained and only gave her suitable doggy treats!

This week we’ll be visiting a local group who have been fundraising for us to collect donations and raise awareness of our Canine Care Card scheme.

The Canine Care Card is a FREE service that gives you peace of mind, knowing that Dogs Trust will care for your dog/s if they outlive you.

If you’d like to know more about talks to community groups, our events or our Canine Care Card Scheme please get in touch with us on 01273 466971 or email [email protected] and [email protected]
