Dogs Trust Salisbury hosts ‘pawsome’ Fun Day
It’s high paws for Dogs Trust Salisbury who hosted its annual fun day at its Newton Tony rehoming centre on Sunday 2nd July, raising £13,400 for homeless hounds.
The charity thanks its thousands of supporters that attended the event and donated gifts and raffle prizes for the day. There are plenty of wagging tails at the rehoming centre as the huge sum raised helps the 65 dogs in its care.
Lucy Hooper, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Salisbury, said:
“Our fun day was a huge success and we couldn’t have achieved it without the support from the public who came down and supported us, as well as volunteers, people and organisations from across the county who gave up their time and worked so hard on the day. It was fantastic that the weather was on our side and we managed to raise a whopping £13,400, with money still coming in.
“Everything that Dogs Trust achieves is because of the wonderful support we receive; enabling us to care for and rehome over 15,000 dogs a year.”
Highlights on the day included have-a-go agility, a grand raffle, giant tombola and games for all the family including four-legged friends who competed for their very own rosettes in the popular dog show, with Obi the crossbreed taking the accolade of Best in Show.
