Abandoned pups born at Christmas find love in time for Valentine's Day

Puppy love is in the air at Dogs Trust Salisbury after a loveable litter of eight Lurcher puppies have all found their special someone ahead of the most romantic day of the year.

The eight brothers and sisters called, Romeo, Juliet, Cupid, Mr Darcy, Prince Charming, Valentine, Rose and Love now six-weeks-old, were born on Christmas Eve days after their mum, four-year-old Christina, was picked up as a stray in the freezing cold when she was already pregnant with the pups.

They have managed to swoon their new families and will soon be heading off to start their new lives in their forever homes.

Tery Laffin, Dogs Trust Salisbury Rehoming Centre Manager says:

"We have all fallen head over heels in love with the pups since they were born on Christmas Eve. Like all puppies they are absolutely adorable but extremely playful so they will need lots of socialisation with other dogs in their early years and plenty of fuss and attention to help them settle in to their new homes.

"We have already started to do basic training with them and they are very quick learners, especially if their favourite treat or toy is on offer as a reward! It was puppy love at first sight for their new families, who are all eagerly awaiting the day they can take them home. We love a happy ending and we are so pleased they have managed to find loving new families in time for Valentines Day."
