Adopt don’t shop this Black Friday
Rehoming appeal for black dog at Dogs Trust Merseyside
Staff at Dogs Trust Merseyside are hoping Black Friday (24 November) will inspire local dog lovers to swap shopping for adopting and give a black dog a new home.
Bailey, a three-year-old Lurcher, arrived at the rehoming centre as a stray and has got his paws crossed that this Black Friday will finally prove lucky for him.
Georgina Lowery, Dogs Trust Merseyside Manager, said:
“As people traditionally hit the shops on Black Friday, we’re using it as the perfect opportunity to celebrate a wonderful black dog in our care and encourage people to adopt not shop.
“Our black beauty, Bailey, really deserves to find his ideal home. He is a very sweet boy, full of fun and loves a good run around so he needs his new home to have a garden which needs to be secure as he’s very inquisitive! He likes to show off what he can do and loves to learn new things so he’d make a great family dog.
“He really is lovely so rather than heading to the shops, we hope people come to see him and decide he’s what they’ve been looking for.”
Bailey can live with children aged 14 and over and could potentially live with a canine companion. He isn’t a fan of being left home alone so, particularly whilst he finds his paws, he would need his new owners to be around most of the time.
“Bailey really deserves a stroke of luck and we thought if any day would be lucky for him, then surely it’s Black Friday. If you think you could give him a happy home, please get in touch and he could be settled on your sofa in time for Christmas.”
Bailey can’t live with cats or other small animals.
If you think you can offer Bailey the home he deserves, please contact the team at Dogs Trust Merseyside on 0300 303 0292 or visit the centre at Whiston Lane, Liverpool, L36 6HP. It is open 12pm-4pm, every day except Wednesday when it is closed. You can also find out more at www.dogstrust.org.uk
