Dogs Trust Merseyside asks dog loving locals for help to make special day “paw-fect”
With just a few days to go to its annual Fun Day, Dogs Trust Merseyside is hoping dog-loving locals will come to its rescue by donating items such as chocolates, wine and long-forgotten unwanted Christmas presents as raffle and tombola prizes for its annual doggy fundraising extravaganza.
The team’s eyes are firmly set on making the family day out on Sunday 19 May at Inglenook Farm in Saint Helens the best ever, but to make that happen they rely on the very generous donations from supporters across the region, as well as dog loving locals who could volunteer their time on the day.
Aimee Best, Supporter Relations Officer at the Huyton Rehoming Centre says:
“The support we received last year was amazing, and one of the best ways people can help us is by donating prizes for our tombola and raffle.
“The raffles and tombola are always a highlight of the day, and in the past we have been very grateful to dog loving locals and businesses who donate everything from wine and chocolate, to theatre tickets and spa days, which would be a wonderful addition this year too. Every penny raised goes to the dogs in our care – so it really is a case of the more the merrier!
“We are also in need of more volunteers to help on the day, so if anyone would like a doggie day out for a great cause, then please do get in touch as soon as possible. We care for hundreds of dogs every year and every penny raised goes to making sure they have the best lives possible whilst they are waiting for forever homes.”
The Summer Fun Day takes place 11.30am-4pm, at Inglenook Farm, Moss Nook Lane, Rainford, Saint Helens, WA11 8AE. If you are able to donate something please pop along to the centre on Whiston Lane, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 6HP or call Aimee on 0151 949 5518.
