Homeless hound with unique Mickey Mouse marking hopes for ‘furry-tail’ ending

Dogs Trust Manchester is appealing for dog loving Mickey Mouse enthusiasts to help find a loving home for a very special - and quite goofy - homeless hound.

Four-year-old Rex has a unique marking on his back in the shape of the famous three-circle Mickey Mouse silhouette, which surprised and delighted staff at the Denton rehoming centre.

Now the team are hoping the sweet-natured American Bulldog will win the hearts of dog and Disney-fans who are looking for a real-life four-legged friend to enjoy adventures with.

Dawn Bishop, Dogs Trust Manchester Manager, says:

“We were stunned when we spotted the marking! He is a beautiful boy and cheeky and curious just like Mickey Mouse, but that’s definitely where the similarity ends. He is a big dog, a real gentle giant, and although he loves to play with people and canine companions, he doesn’t always like to be the centre of attention, unlike Mickey.”

Fun-loving Rex is a real character who would love to live with a family with children aged 14 and over who will enjoy having fun with him – and settling down on a comfy sofa to watch a Disney film or two! - but who will also be happy to entertain themselves when he wants to step out of the limelight. He doesn’t like to be left home alone so he will need a forever family who are around most of the time, and he would prefer to be the only four-legged family member.

Dawn says:

“His unique markings have attracted a lot of attention but sadly he hasn’t stolen the heart of his very own Minnie yet! He has lots of love to give and just like Mickey Mouse he will be a loving and loyal companion, so we’re hoping that it won’t be long before someone spots his star potential and he heads off to enjoy great adventures with his new family.”
