Dogs Trust Manchester is giving dog owners more opportunities to get their dogs microchipped for free, now that it has become law.
The team at the Denton centre will be microchipping on Sunday (17 April) between 10am and 4pm and between the same times the following Sunday (24 April). On Tuesday 26 April the event will run between 12pm and 7.30pm and on Monday 2 May, Bank Holiday Monday, they will be microchipping between 10am-4pm.
Hundreds of owners took the opportunity to get their dog microchipped for free at the centre before the change to the law on 6 April. It is now compulsory to have dogs microchipped and owners who don’t, and fail to keep their contact details up to date on the microchipping database, could face a fine of up to £500.
There is no need to book, owners can just turn up. The team can only microchip dogs that are over 12 weeks of age. The centre is on Parkway, Denton, M34 3SG. For further information please call 0161 337 3600.
