Wanda is a beautiful lurcher, looking for her forever home!
Wanda came to the centre on 28th September 2021. She was originally found as a stray, so we don’t have a lot of information about Wanda’s history. What we do know is that she’s a sweet 9 year old Lurcher, who loves spending time with people and will do anything for a treat! She loves to run, bounce, hop and get scooty when you throw toys; she isn’t very good at bringing toys back though! She loves to say to say hi to people and dogs, will happily jump in the car for adventures further afield and she walks well on a loose lead. Wanda is also very good at settling and is a magnificent traveller.
Wanda is looking for a home with a private, secure garden to help with housetraining. She will also need a home away from small furries/excessive wildlife and as much as possible, away from cats - this is due to her high prey drive around smaller animals.
She will need minimal leaving hours initially and adopters who are able to build them up very slowly. Adopters must be prepared that she will need time to settle, as she may not have lived in a home before as she was found as a stray
Wanda can live with children aged 11+, who are sensible and are used to medium sized dogs. She is very friendly with everyone she meets so she would fit nicely into family life. Wanda can potentially live with another dog, pending a meet at the centre and preferably another dog that is a similar size.
Lastly, Wanda will be going home with a lead disclaimer, which means she must be on a lead whilst around other animals. She’s also happy to wear a muzzle out and about if she’s likely to encounter any small furries including cats.
Wanda is a lovely girl who just needs someone to give her the love she shows to everyone at the centre every day! Here’s what our staff think…
“Wanda is a lovely girl! She’s so friendly and has bags of personality!” – Media Assistant
“I took Wanda on an offsite walk recently and she was happy to jump in the car and wear her muzzle. She walks great on lead and loves to explore!” – Canine Carer
